If you are getting a black screen when trying to stream the VLC media player, follow these steps to enable Open GL in the preferences.
1. Open VLC preferences
Go to the VLC media player window, open the "Tools" dropdown, and select "Preferences" from the list.
2. Select the Video tab
3. Select "OpenGL video output" from the "Output" dropdown
Open the input dropdown and select "OpenGL video output" from the menu. Be sure to save your settings after.
4. Set Hardware-accelerated decoding to "Disable" and click Save
5. Log out of Kast, restart the app and then log back in
To log out, press your profile icon in the upper right corner and select "Log Out" from the dropdown menu.
It is important to log out and not just quit the app.
Try streaming again.
