Moderators can help keep the peace in parties. They have the power to kick & ban users, grant kasting permission and delete chat messages. Channel owners automatically also have moderation powers.
To learn how to make a user a moderator, check out this article.
Kicking & banning users
If you are a moderator in a party, you can click on the name of a person in the right side bar, and you will be given the choice to kick or ban an individual, as shown below.
Kicking a person removes them from the party. They have the ability to come back.
Banning a person automatically also kicks them from the party, and prevents them from coming back until the ban has been removed. To lift a ban, go into the party pop-up and navigate to the "Banned" tab.
This is what you will see when you click on a user in the left side bar, not the "Ban from Party" and "Kick" options.
Granting kasting permission
In order to Kast in a party where you are not an owner or moderator, you need kasting permission.
As a moderator, you have the ability to grant this power. Just click on a user in the left side bar, and select "Allow to kast", as seen in the image below.
If you are tired of looking at those same old Chuck Norris compilation videos, you can remove kasting rights in a similar way, just click the user and then select "Remove from Kasting".
Moderating chat
Moderators are able to delete individual chat messages if there is something inappropriate going on.
When you hover over a message in chat, you will see this trash can icon.
Click on the trash can and the message will soon be deleted, and look like this:
If there is a spammer in the chat and there are too many messages to go through, don't worry! You can delete the entire chat by going next to the Party Chat text and clicking the trashcan.
Voilà, moderation complete!
And remember, in the words of Greek Poet Hesiod: observe due measure; moderation is best in all things.
