What are the different features of each Kast app?

Kast is a truly cross-platform app and we are working on bringing you the full Kast experience across all devices - but it takes time, so please bear with us. 

To make it easier for you to understand where each version stands now, we have a comparison of the functionalities of each version:

Web version & desktop downloadable

Our Web version is designed for the best experience while using Kast for any type of watch party experience. The web version is available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (works on both Windows & Mac). You can share your desktop, browser tab and/or camera, create parties and add friends – the whole Kast experience! On Kast web, you can choose a specific browser tab as your audio source instead of your computer’s audio on Windows, Mac, ChromeBook or Linux. This means no echo! Also, when sharing your entire screen on the web version (Windows only), Kast’s sound will not get picked up.

The downloadable version for Windows and Mac has similar features as the web app.

Mobile (Android & iOS)

Discover and join parties and watch others Kast. You can use voice or text chat, and you can share your camera and microphone. Streaming your screen is currently not available, but we are working on it. Browsing Kast TV is coming to mobile very soon.
