How can I use Kast TV?
Kast TV is available from your icon tray in your party. Just hit the TV icon and launch content from Kast TV’s offering. If you are not in your own party, you’ll need kasting permission from the party moderators to start streaming Kast TV content.
Web: You can find the Kast TV icon on the left hand side, highlighted in the above image.
Mobile: You can find Kast TV by clicking on button at the top.
What kind of content is available for Kast TV?
When opening up Kast TV, you will see dedicated channels with free to stream third-party content available for all (currently YouTube and Tubi with more to come), and Kast TV’s own library with films and series, available for Kast Premium members. Kast TV’s content offering will evolve over time based on community feedback - we are eager to add more and more content that you like!
Can we watch Kast TV and talk at the same time?
You can watch and talk at the same time when streaming from Kast TV without an echo or having to use a third party software. Select your microphone as your audio input when you start sharing your video and mic while you are watching content from Kast TV.
We recommend using headphones while watching if you plan to talk with your friends at the same time. This makes sure your hear each other as clearly as possible.
Can I still share my screen on Kast?
Absolutely! Kast TV is an additional feature on top of already existing ones. You can still choose to kast from your laptop or computer.
Is Kast TV a virtual browser?
Kast TV is not a virtual browser. With Kast TV, you can browse and stream content from our growing list of partners in your watch parties.
Who’s controlling Kast TV in a party?
Anyone with kasting rights can launch Kast TV in a watch party. The person who started the stream has the ability to control playback functions (stop, resume, etc) but anyone with kasting rights can replace the content.
Am I sharing from my computer when watching Kast TV in my party?
When you are watching Kast TV, you are streaming content directly from the cloud, you are not sharing it from your computer. This means that streaming from Kast TV requires less bandwidth and much less effort from your computer or laptop. You can also share your webcam or screen and talk over videos streamed from Kast TV regardless if you are a the person who started the Kast TV media.
Can I use Kast TV on mobile?
Yes, you can! Kast TV is currently out on iOS, and coming to Android in the next few days.
Do I need to pay for Kast TV?
You can watch channels with free third-party content with your free Kast account, but Kast TV’s own content library is only available for Kast Premium members. If someone with a Premium subscription is playing content in a party, they can leave their stream on for the others to watch even if they leave the party.
Can we watch Kast TV content with my friend who is not a premium member?
If you are a Kast Premium member, you can play content from Kast TV’s content library in your parties and your friends with a free account can watch it with you.
